“Design and characterisation of a compliant mechanism to stabilise a laser system”

MUnique Technology GmbH is a young company with sustainable growth. Our DeepTech company has specialized in the field of optical metrology with an innovative length measuring device.

The system enables a wide range of applications in the field of satellite constellations, secure communication and time transfer systems. This makes it possible to improve earth observation, satellite internet or navigation systems, for example.

The main component of the measuring system (laser) is stabilised using a new concept. This requires mechanical structures that are suitable for use in space.

  • Literature research on Compliant Mechanism (for space applications) and mechanical laser stabilisation systems
  • Design and simulation with CAD software
  • Possibilities of optimisation through AI implementation
  • Prototyping with 3D printing processes and verification in the laboratory
  • Technical report



  • Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, micro and nanotechnology or similar
  • Experience with CAD design software (Fusion 360)
  • Knowledge of Python, C++
  • Knowledge of measurement technology and optics advantageous
  • English (fluent)
